COS

Ever since the first physical moon landing in1969 we have been obsessed with reaching further into outer space and while technology has developed over the past decades we are not only capable of discovering the deep fields of the universe through the James Webb Space Telescope but we also have the tools to create our very own worlds in the deep fields of the metaverse.

The word ‘cosmos’ describes the all existing matter and space of which we are an intrinsic part of - forming, creating and trying to understand our position within the ever changing meaning and purpose. Thus, this intervention titled Cosmos investigates our relationship with the universe and metaverse - both spaces are constantly expanding in their reach and possibilities, bearing the new, the unknown and the excitement of the infinite utopia.

Looking at these two forces, the earth we inhabit becomes an interstitial space between the uni- and metaverse. Cosmos presents digital art as transcended reality, photography as a manifestation of the impalpable and the moving image as a moment of reflection.

For ten days Cosmos will inhabit Toasted’s courtyard and invites visitors to explore the artworks and to dive into the multiverse of the outer and inner spaces between stars, pixels and our bodily manifestations.
