We understand art fairs primarily as spaces of commerce, where galleries present artworks for sale, and collectors and institutions come to acquire and network.

Yet, they also serve as accelerators for artists and independent spaces, adding a vital dimension beyond the commercial aspect.

A group of international curators was invited to experience and discuss the spaces, projects, and artworks across independent, non-profit, and art fair offerings.

With Ngkopoleng Moloi, the current director of ArtThrob, as the Curatorial Intensive host and guide:

Bernardo Follini

 - Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin

Zeynep Kubat

- KANAL, Brussels

Sorana Munsya

- independent curator, Brussels

Nisha Merit

- independent curator, Berlin & Johannesburg
