Ways of Writing: Creative Knowledge Production in African Studies

To explore how curatorial and creative fields open new avenues for engaging with central discourses in African Studies.

The workshop is part of a collaborative project between colleagues at the University of Basel and the University of Cape Town in response to a forthcoming exhibition commemorating the tragic 2021 fire at the Jagger Library at the University of Cape Town, one of the most extensive collections of African studies material in the world.

Danielle Bowler (editor and writer), Bongani Kona (PhD candidate, editor and writer) and myself will offered writing advice and insights into their practice.

Organised by Sindi-Leigh McBride and Julia Rensing.
